1. Conditions necessary for start-up
Check the following items before starting the machine:
1）Leak check
2）Make sure that there is no leakage in the pump and its pipeline before starting. If there is leakage, especially in the suction pipe, it will reduce the operating efficiency of the pump and affect the water filling before starting.
Motor steering
Checking whether the motor turns correctly before starting the machine.
Free rotation
The pump must be able to rotate freely. The two semi-couplings of the coupling should be separated from each other. The operator can check whether the shaft can rotate flexibly by rotating the coupling on the pump side.
Shaft coupling alignment
Further inspection should be made to ensure that the coupling is aligned and meets the requirements, and the alignment process should be recorded. Tolerances should be considered when assembling and disassembling the coupling.
Pump lubrication
Checking whether the pump and drive bearing are filled with oil (oil or grease) before driving.
Shaft seal and sealing water
In order to ensure that the mechanical seal can work normally, the following parameters must be checked: the sealing water must be clean. The maximum size of impurity particles must not exceed 80 microns. The solid content cannot exceed 2 mg/l (ppm). The mechanical seal of stuffing box requires sufficient sealing water. The water quantity is 3-5 l/min.
Pump starting
Precondition
1）The suction pipe and pump body must be filled with medium.
2）The pump body must be vented by venting screws.
3）Shaft seal ensures sufficient sealing water.
4）Make sure that the sealing water can be drained from the stuffing box (30-80 drops/min).
5）Mechanical seal must have enough sealing water, and its flow can only be adjusted at the outlet.
6）The suction pipe valve is fully open.
7）The valve of the delivery pipe is fully closed.
8）Start the pump, and open the valve at the outlet pipe side to a proper position, so as to obtain a proper flow rate.
9）Checking the stuffing box to see if there is enough liquid flowing out, otherwise, the stuffing box gland must be loosened immediately. If the packing is still hot after loosening the gland, the operator must stop the pump immediately and check the reason. If the stuffing box rotates for nearly ten minutes and no problems are found, it can be tightened gently again;
Pump shutdown
Automatic shutdown When interlocking shutdown is used, DCS automatically performs necessary operations.
Manual shutdown Manual shutdown must adopt the following steps:
Shut down the motor
Close the delivery pipe valve.
Close the suction pipe valve.
Air pressure in the pump body is exhausted.
Close the sealing water.
If the pump liquid is likely to freeze, the pump and its pipeline should be emptied.
